Trend-followers post third month of gains in August

Trend-followers advanced on rising stocks and other strong shifts in August, paring losses YTD in a third month of CTA gains.

Societe Generale’s tracker of ten large trend-followers rose 2.9%, leaving it -7.4% YTD after eight months. The broader CTA counterpart rose 1.4% in August, cutting its decline this year to 6.2%.
