Oaktree adds ex-Minnesota State CIO to board
Oaktree Capital Group announced that Mansco Perry has joined its board of directors, following 27 years at the Minnesota State Board of Investment. He retired last year as executive director and CIO.
“No one knows more than Mansco about managing investment portfolios or pension funds,” said Howard Marks, Oaktree’s co-chairman. “Our familiarity with each other will allow Mansco to make an immediate contribution to Oaktree. We look forward to benefiting from his vast experience and unique insight.”
Brevan Howard expands in Abu Dhabi
Brevan Howard has opened its new Middle-East headquarters in Abu Dhabi, with space for more than 100 staff.
The new office is in the Al Sarab Tower and part of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), a financial centre in the capital of the United Arab Emirates which is attracting increasing numbers of hedge funds.
Hong Kong fund hires from Bank of America
Dantai Capital, a Hong Kong-based long/short equity fund, has appointed Julia Yao, a former Bank of America prime broker, as deputy COO. She had spent more than five years at the US bank, having previously worked at Linedata and Bloomberg.
Adia’s Professor Lipton joins board
Professor Alexander Lipton, who joined Adia as global head of its Quantitative Research and Development unit just over a year ago, has been appointed to its prestigious lab’s advisory board. The Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund’s lab has a mission to develop systems which can extract actionable insights from masses of data.
William Blair hires director in London
US investment bank William Blair has appointed Kiara Mitchinson as a director in London as part of a European push. She is joining the firm’s financial sponsors group, where she will provide advisory services to private equity clients.
She has previously worked at Credit Suisse and PJT Partners.
