AQR hedge funds begin 2025 with gains

Two of AQR Capital Management’s key hedge fund strategies started 2025 with gains during a turbulent January.

The $123bn Connecticut firm’s Apex Strategy, which deploys a multi-strategy approach across stocks, macro and arbitrage, rose 2.5% after a 15.1% gain last year. It runs about $2.7bn.
