Cadwyn Capital has hired Parag Patel, who previously worked as chief risk officer and chair of the investment committee at Capula Investment Management.
The London-based firm’s plans are developing quickly as it builds a multi-manager platform.
The latest appointment is a major hire by Cadwyn, which has ex-GAM Systematic and Investment Solutions chief Anthony Lawler as CIO and COO.
Patel will serve as chief risk officer and investment director at the London-based firm, working as an “on the desk” CRO working on Cadwyn Pure Alpha and future strategies.
Its first strategy, market-neutral RV, started in October, and a systematic macro strategy is following later this year.
Once that is live they will launch the Cadwyn Multi-Strategy fund to allocate to both and future PMs/strategies as they join, planned for late 2023 or the first half of this year.
Cadwyn is in discussions with potential early investors and seed partners.
During Patel’s time at Capula the firm’s grew from $18bn to $25bn under management.
He previously spent 20 years at DWS and Deutsche Bank, becoming managing director with global oversight of investment risk across a range of hedge fund and derivative platforms.
