Citadel signs up for new City of London office

2 Finsbury Avenue will have two high towers, scheduled to complete in 2027

Citadel has leased over 250,000 square feet of prime office space in the City of London for its new European headquarters.

Ken Griffin’s multi-strat giant, together with market maker Citadel Securities, will be based in 2 Finsbury Avenue, a 36-storey development scheduled to complete in 2017.

Citadel announced the agreement in a statement with British Land and GIC, which are behind the Broadgate development. It has options to lease up to another 130,000 square feet, the parties said, which would mean Citadel entities would occupy half of the entire building.

2 Finsbury Avenue comprises dual high-rise towers, the 36-storey East Tower and the West Tower at 21-storeys, linked by a 12-storey podium.

“We are excited to move into this spectacular new building at 2 Finsbury Avenue,” said Gerald Beeson, COO at Citadel.

“This unparalleled building will provide the 21st century workplace experience for the exceptional talent we attract to our firm as we continue to grow our presence in London.”

Citadel is already based in the City at 120 London Wall by Moorgate.
