IG Prime has hired former Citi executive Michael Denoon-Slater as head of capital introductions as the prime broker prepares to launch a new service connecting hedge fund managers with investors.
Denoon-Slater will lead the development of the capital introduction offering, which will focus on connecting emerging managers with institutional allocators and supporting their fundraising.
The launch adds another component to IG Prime’s institutional offering, which currently includes synthetic prime brokerage, custody, trading, execution and financing services for hedge funds, family offices and other investment managers.
Capital introduction experience
Denoon-Slater has more than two decades of experience across alternative investment management, prime services and capital raising.
He previously served as head of Asian capital introductions at Citi and founded Strathspey Partners, a boutique advisory business focused on capital introduction and business development for alternative investment funds.
Denoon-Slater later joined fund services provider Lawson Conner as head of capital introductions, where he was responsible for developing its business across Europe, Asia and North America.
He has also worked with hedge funds and private equity managers on fundraising and investor relationships.
IG Prime expands offering
IG Prime has been expanding its institutional capabilities as it targets both new and established hedge fund managers.
The business launched an institutional white-label platform last year, providing partner firms with access to IG’s multi-asset trading, execution, analytics and risk-management infrastructure.
IG has provided institutional prime services since 2006 and offers access to more than 17,000 equities alongside indices, currencies, commodities and other markets.
The launch date and structure of its new capital introduction service have not yet been disclosed.
