Man Group targets North America with duo of senior hires

Man Group has announced the hire of two senior industry professionals in newly-created roles based in New York.

The firm said the hires of Kristina Hooper as its first chief market strategist and Matt Rowe as managing director, solutions “underscore its commitment to clients across North America.”

Hooper most recently served in a similar role at Invesco. In her new role, she will develop global macro views of the markets and economy to assess potential implications on Man Group’s wider investment platform and provide clients with a strong sense of what’s driving market trends.

“Today’s unprecedented environment requires deep knowledge of market behaviour and a true understanding of the macroeconomic and strategic policies that impact asset allocation, sector analysis, and investment processes,” said Steven Desmyter, president at Man Group.

“We have long been in the business of diversification and are constantly thinking about how to join the dots across our expansive platform, while maintaining its individual investment framework.”

Rowe was previously head of portfolio management at Nomura Capital Management. In his new position, he will leverage Man Group’s range of strategies to develop bespoke portfolio solutions for clients and help shape new product offerings.

They join in the coming weeks.
