Marex has expanded its global capital introduction team with the hire of Leah Teo who joins from the buyside in Singapore.
Teo, who worked in investor relations for Astignes Capital, is the firm’s first cap intro hire based in the Lion City and will work closely with colleagues in Hong Kong.
This newly created role also reflects strong regional momentum in Asia, according to a statement from Marex, which is expanding its client base of banks, hedge funds, investment managers and family offices.
The appointment follows on from Chris Lloyd joining Marex’s cap intro team in London last month from Andromeda Capital Management to focus on the EMEA region.
Earlier in the summer Rebecca Kim (Smithurst) joined Marex in a sales role as the first prime services team member in Singapore.
“Leah brings valuable allocator and manager-side experience, with a strong track record of building relationships and delivering for clients across the alternatives space,” said Jack Seibald, global co-head of prime services and outsourced trading at Marex.
“Her appointment strengthens our ability to connect managers with the right investors, both across the region and globally.”
