Marex hires Tom Tardif for Middle East capital introduction role

Marex has appointed Tom Tardif as vice president of capital introduction for the Middle East, expanding its on-the-ground coverage of hedge fund allocators across the region.

Based in Dubai, Tardif will connect hedge fund managers with institutional investors and family offices in the Middle East and globally as part of Marex’s 14-person global capital introduction team.

Tardif joins from Cambridge Associates

Tardif joins from Cambridge Associates, where he was associate director in client solutions with a focus on investment advisory services.

He has spent nearly five years in Dubai, previously working in capital raising and investor relations at Salica Investments and as a relationship manager at Greenstone Equity Partners.

Before moving to the region, Tardif spent almost seven years at Blu Family Office in London, latterly as director and head of investor relations.

GCC hedge fund interest grows

Tardif said he had seen a noticeable increase in GCC allocator interest in hedge fund strategies over the past 12 to 18 months, alongside the region’s established appetite for private investments.

Jack Seibald, global co-head of prime services at Marex, said the appointment strengthens its Middle East capabilities as engagement with alternative investment strategies grows across the region.

Marex’s capital introduction network covers approximately 2,100 institutional allocators globally, with teams operating across the Middle East, Americas, Europe and Asia.
