Marex’s prime brokerage and outsourced trading sales team in New York continues to strengthen with the hire of Patterson McDonald, who joins from Jefferies.
McDonald, who was senior vice president for the last five years at the New York firm, will work closely with hedge funds and asset managers to support their business and trading objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
Over more than two decades, Patterson has held senior roles in trading, technology and institutional sales, with a focus on equities, options, commodities and FX in global markets.
He earlier worked at Eze Software Group and worked on the buyside at Incline Global Management and Signpost Capital.
It follows the hires of Serhan Eryuksel to the outsourced trading team in London from UBS, Charlie Monson in Dubai and Rebecca Kim (Smithurst) as the first prime services team hire in Singapore.
Bobby Croswell, co-head of Americas PB sales, outsourced trading and capital introduction at Marex, said they were seeing a surge in demand globally, and are growing to meet it.
