RAM Active Investments, owned by Italy’s Mediobanca Group, is raising money for a new multi-strategy platform in a new extension of its investment range.
The Geneva-based firm’s investment team and Mediabanca have seeded the new unit, which will apply its machine-learning infrastructure to capture inefficiencies across asset classes using systematic and discretionary strategies, accessible via a single product.
RAM AI said its platform “combines deep learning models with fundamental investment research, aiming for zero correlation to equity markets while seeking high risk-adjusted returns.”
The strategy targets returns of 10-15% with an expected volatility of 5-8%, targeting a Sharpe ratio of 2.
“With the launch of our multi-strategy platform, we want to provide institutional investors with a scalable, AI-driven investment solution that combines systematic and discretionary strategies,” said Emmanuel Hauptmann, CIO and head of systematic equities at RAM AI.
“This platform is built to seek robust, absolute returns with zero correlation to equity markets, through the use of our proprietary technology stack to navigate dynamic market conditions.”
It will have a diversified investment approach across market-neutral, statistical arbitrage, volatility, credit and commodity arbitrage strategies with the aim to mitigate risks and enhance returns.
The firm manages assets for Pan-European institutions and wealth managers and said in a statement it is “actively seeking additional participants in this seeding phase.”
