MPP&E Capital, a systematic quant hedge fund, has passed $100m under management and plans to rebrand as EverestQuant.
The London-based firm announced the developments alongside the hire of Gavin Lucas, formerly of Brevan Howard, who joins to lead the firm’s Tactical Systematic Macro efforts.
“His experience in global macro trading further expands the firm’s ability to deploy systematic strategies across markets and benefit from diversified sources of alpha,” the firm said.
Its asset base is held across separately managed account (SMA) and commingled fund commitments. The firm said it planned to scale further its research-driven robust quantitative strategies based on scientific methodology and advanced data-engineering infrastructure.
The name EverestQuant pays homage to “co-founder Marton Peter Price’s summit of Mount Everest in 2023 and stands in honour of pursuing ‘Everest-level’ challenges in everything the firms embarks upon,” according to a statement.
The firm has also newly launched its primary commingled vehicle, the Everest Flagship Master Fund, with initial strong commitments from European multi-family office and institutional investors.
The strategy has operated in a controlled pre-production environment since November 2024 and will serve as EverestQuant’s multi-strategy flagship offering.
“These milestones signal our growing conviction in our systematic quant strategies and ambition to scale our London, UK-headquartered hedge fund on an institutional level,” said Price.
