Standard Chartered private bank eyes macro/CTA, private credit and infra

  • “This is the time” for macro/CTA, says StanChart executive Manpreet Gill
  • Infrastructure and private credit of interest in private markets
  • But overall alternatives rating remains neutral

Standard Chartered’s private bank is exploring opportunities in hedge funds and private markets after alternatives protected capital last year.

Manpreet Gill, group CIO for Africa, the Middle-East and Europe, said the bank was neutral on alternatives overall but expressed interest in macro and CTA hedge funds, as well as infrastructure investing.
