Treasury transaction volumes spike in higher rate era

Treasury transaction volumes rose 14% in 2023 as hedge funds raced to capitalise on higher interest rates.

Industry use of cash as an alpha-generating tool rocketed last year. Citco also recorded a 17% increase in treasury payment volumes, which jumped in Q4 as hedge funds took advantage of high rates before they fall.
